St. Mark's Episcopal Church is on a quiet residential street in South St. Louis in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood. Clifton Avenue is one of those special St. Louis streets that starts and stops several times. It is not one continuous street from its starting point in the North to its ending point in the South. Even those who know South St. Louis well can have a hard time finding St. Mark's. For the wise, Clifton is two blocks west of Hampton off of Nottingham.
