But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.  (1 John 3:17-18)

At St. Mark’s we reach out beyond the confines of our parish doors!  We are passionate about social justice and as a congregation, we participate in several programs.

DOORWAYS Interfaith Housing

DOORWAYS is an interfaith non-profit organization which provides housing and related supportive services to improve quality of life and health outcomes for people affected by HIV/AIDS. St. Mark’s is a Keystone Supporter of DOORWAYS, providing financial and volunteer assistance. Find out more at: https://www.doorwayshousing.org/

Isaiah 58 Ministries

Isaiah 58 Ministries is a cooperative ministry on the near south side of St. Louis. Since 1970 they have been dedicated to helping our neighbors in the city through providing food, clothing and connection to other needed services. Find out more at: https://i58ministries.org/

Meal-a-Month

For several years, St. Mark’s has contributed to Feed My People’s Meal-A-Month program which helps St. Louis County families in need.  Each month, members pick up a shopping list and bag to fill with food and personal care items.  We collect the bags at church and transport them to Feed My People. Find out more at: https://www.feed-my-people.org/

Episcopal City Mission (ECM)

The ECM provides support, hope and healing to children in detention. St. Mark’s sponsors twice yearly visits to the St. Louis City Juvenile Detention Center to celebrate residents’ birthdays. These fun-filled celebrations serve as an affirming social time for the children.  We support the work of ECM chaplains whose presence let’s the youth know someone cares about them.
